Some Common Problems In The Cartridge Of An Inkjet Printer

If you are near your printer, look at it for a moment and think about the last time you had to replace the ink cartridge. Was it a hassle? Was it expensive? Was it time-consuming? Was it confusing? Probably the answer was yes to all four questions!

You should also be considering what the costs of replacement cartridges are. Unfortunately, ink is pretty expensive, particularly for ink jet. The prices for these are comparable to the price of the printer itself. While ink jet are overall cheap when you first purchase it, you more than pay for the printer when it comes to the ink.

Even though most of the printers can work with Windows drivers, some printers will require OLE or OPOS drivers to print the receipts. Ask you dealer about the compatibility issues that you might have with the printers and your POS.

You can replace your existing printer with a printer from any brand. Most of them are manufactured in such a way to emulate most of the other brands. However, asking your dealer about the options to replace the existing printer will be good decision.

Warning – cleaning print heads uses ink so you may run low on ink before you get a good result. And a good result is not guaranteed – the print head may have failed.

Paper jams. This is by far the most common problem encountered when printing. Reasons for this include using crumpled papers, and printer roller problems. Once your paper is jammed, stop the printing operation, turn off your printer and pull the paper in the direction of the printing path; pulling it backwards might damage your printer more. Make sure there aren’t any pieces of paper left inside the printer, and turn it back on. This should work properly by now.

It is not that difficult to solve printer problems with compatible ink cartridges. You should explore the options available to you to make your printer recognise compatible ink cartridges.
